I don't tackle very many large projects like this
buffet/hutch, but when I do I am always thrilled with the end result and it makes
the hard work worth the effort.
Here it is in it's original (and very good) condition after 20-something years.
First a coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint in pure white.
Top coat is Provence (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint) plus clear wax and some light distressing.
I added a little dark wax on the distressed areas before using the clear wax, to try and give it a darker
tint.
The finish on the surface is like glass. Such a lovely product to work with.
The owner is planning to finish it with some black iron handles
which will look great.
I am so delighted with the result that I am tempted to drag my own hutch out to the garage
and give it a makeover!!!
Happy Weekend everyone!
