Before and not quite after

I had a laugh over at Andrea's blog pink-poodle the other day. Some of us were expressing our chagrin at having to learn how to operate new technology, namely digital cameras. My hubby has bought me a beauty for Christmas this year whilst on his travels overseas and has offered it to me prematurely...I think he has had enough of my strong expressions of disdain for my current camera, which, by the way, I grabbed off the impulse aisle at the supermarket checkout for $99...I can hear you all now "that explains those photos". I have refused to accept my early Chrissy pressy but not for the noble reasons you might think (ie saving it for the proper occasion), but rather because I am delaying the inevitable feeling of complete incompetence that I KNOW I will experience upon opening my new toy! Anyway, I have mentioned all of this in order to apologise, yet again, for the sad quality of these photos.

Our bathrooms are the bane of my life. With all due respect....who chooses orange/pink two-tone floor tiles and a lighter toned orange/pink for wall tiles????? I guess they thought they would compliment nicely with the brown/pink floral frieze/border tile in the shower box. To date, my reno budget is running rather low, so I will have to save up in order to tackle the tiling problem, however, I did manage to replace the old vanity tops, basins, fixtures and splashbacks (my first ever attempt at tiling) and paint the cupboards. One day I hope to be able to share with you the completed bathroom and ensuite in all their glory but until then...here's a snippet of what's been done so far.

Ensuite after (above), before (below).

Bathroom after. I have yet to paint the cream woodwork of the sliding door.
Those are the new handles but I have gone off them already so will probs replace them soon.

Wow! That has made a huge difference!! Love it.

And I laughed about you wanting to wait until Christmas day to open the new camera. Can't wait to see the new improved crisper photos!!

You are off to a great start! I know what you mean about crazy color combos. We've all seen them at open houses over the years. Was pink and orange in a bathroom ever in style?

Ange think the bathroom reno looks fabulous amazing what we can do when we put our mind to it.
My husband bought me a new camera for mothers day and I must admit that I only read the manual two weeks ago, now I know how to use the timer. Sandy

I would love to have a new camera too, but I don't even know how to use the one I have! (maybe I should start by learning that huh?) :-) Great job with what you've done so far on the bathroom.

Hi Ange,
how nice of you to stop by my blog and leave your sweet comments.
Love your blog - still got a lot of post to go thru but I can tell you is just great.
Wow you are a great reno girl. I'm no good at that. I'm pretty good at distressing furniture but renovating is no-go for me.
I have to say that I love your profile. I could picture you in my mind while reading it and couldn't help laughing with you. you've got a very pleasant sense of humour.
I'll come and visit often - I've already become a follower.
Take good care of yourself and happy blogging.
I guess I'm turning into a blogging addict... are you aware of any special medication for this disease?
Hugs

Hi Ange, I too love your reno. You know, you can buy paint to cover tiles now (which I did in our downstairs toilet because the landlord's ex-wife had opted for a dribbly hideous orange - and orange is my favourite colour - with kak green trim around the door frames). So, as we are still renting while we wait for the insurance payout after our house burned down, I bought a primer for covering tiles. I can't tell you how the white has made a difference! Also - there are new products out for redoing floors as if they were hmmm, don't know what it is in English : Béton Ciré. Polished ciment? Loft style design at affordable prices... Might be an interim option! You really are a clever girl with those renos you know!!
The other Ange ;-)

Wow Ange, the bathroom is looking spectacular!!! I'm so impressed you tackled tiling!

I know what you mean about your new camera! I bought mine right before we went on vacation in July, so I spent the entire time taking picture after picture and just fooling around with all of the different buttons...then I read the manual, it made more sense to me after I had a feel for the camera. I say, just dive right in, I bet you'll find you think it is a lot of fun!

Hey Ange!
All I can say is WOW!
What a transformation!
It's really coming along...I personally dislike bathroom redos...they are so costly and sometimes (at least with me) I don't feel like It looks like what it costs...Does that make sense?
Oh well...I just wanted to say Thank you for thinking of me and my family...Have a wonderful day...donna
