I Wish I Was a Picture Framer

When I left school I was rather naive as far as what field I wanted to be employed in. My mind was not really open to the many and varied opportunities that existed. I ended up in an office, behind a desk answering phones and sorting mail *YAWN*. I wish someone had said to me, "Why don't you become a picture framer?". I guess it's never too late huh?

I have been playing around with frames and images for our lounge and here's what I came up with...

Above is the final setting.
Below, the 2 lower pictures add depth but the safari prints just aren't me.

Do you remember the following 2 pics I got for $5 each?
BEFORE....

and AFTER.....

The next 2 were from the same op shop,
BEFORE....

and AFTER....

I am really pleased with the way the room is coming together. I am having trouble finding inexpensive drumshades for the lamps so will have to be patient.
The sofa is on my "to-do" list. I want to upholster it in crisp white with large nailhead trim.

The blue and white duck is a recent 2nd hand find and is great for storing the TV remote.

Who spotted the fact that I've painted one of the lamp tables white?
I told you I wasn't good at finishing.

Ange,
Your place is looking great. Those lamp bases are out of this world. Very cool. Did you ever work out how to get the creases from your rug?

Ange, I noticed new cushions and new cylinder shades on those bases - just gorgeous. A picture framer what happened to an upholsterer?

Those pictures are beautiful. I will never look at a salvation arm picture the same. There is always tomorrow to paint. I have one of those same kind of matching end tables in my basement.

PS - I have a funny tale about the colour of your coffee table and a wombat... will be sure to include you.

It's all looking so great! I love the hints of green and those lamps are amazing. I find Bunnings and Target are sometimes good for inexpensive lampshades.

Professional picture framing is so EXPENSIVE so I wish I were one too, just so I could frame my own! You've done a wonderful job arranging the frames and it makes quite an impact behind the lounge. It's all looking fantastic.

Oh your room is looking fantastic! And if you were a picture framer you would be making a lot of money as they aren't cheap. But worth it for some of the prints I bought overseas so shouldn't complain. Letitia x

The frames are fantastic- what a difference:). I think you would have made a wonderful picture framer. I also had a little chuckle over the duck storing the TV remotes. What a clever idea:)

There also seems to be good money in picture framing given what it has cost me to frame some movie posters! I love your arrangement, I think it looks perfect! Rachaelxx

Ange, I am so sorry I haven't been by for such a long time! I am glad I have caught up on your blog and I must say I LOVE your revamped picture frames-great job!

I finally finished my part-time teaching contract, went on a wee little break and then our house flooded...life has been insane here! I hope you have been well and that the horrible weather didn't effect you too much. I think we are in for a wet old summer!

Take care and best wishes always,
Natasha.
