Upholstered Bedhead Headboard

Well I am happy to say I am having a productive week.

I mentioned the free bedhead I picked up, in my last post. I have managed to reupholster it and am really happy with the result.

Here it is BEFORE.

and here it is AFTER...

I painted the woodwork black.

This fabric has been fantastic. I got it in a sale and have covered chairs, lamps (thanks Sandy) and now a bedhead in it.
I wanted to use double piping as that is what was used originally and it gives a professional finish but I have had a very difficult time trying to make it. I even ordered a special piping foot from the States but it hasn't helped me. Then I had the idea of painting the old piping that I had removed from the bedhead. Well it worked a treat.

So here she is in all her glory. I'm tempted to sell our queen-size bed just so I can keep her (She/he is a King-size).

I am not having much joy selling my projects on ebay so if any of you resourceful ladies have an idea where else I could sell, I'm all ears.

PS - I can't imagine you having anything that wouldn't sell. Maybe you should try and sell via your blog? :)

Amazing Ange...what a huge difference it makes...I still need to learn the art of upholstering. Im so surprised that your pieces are selling on Ebay..compared to the crap that some people put on there. Can you get away with using a king on a queen? x

Australia needs trademe - it would sell on there in a flash! It's so chic - I love it...

Gorgeous, Ange. I'd keep it if you were in the market for a new bed. And I agree - you should try to sell via the blog rather than ebay.

Hey Ange, It looks amazing but that's a bugger about the ebay. Do you do it Buy it Now? I would think it would zoom out with a reasonable buy it now...auctions are too fickle. I think you should definetly try and sell through the blog though, cheers Katherine

Fantastic job Ange! I won't tell you what I paid to have a KS made for our bedroom, but it had 3 noughts after it! Maybe make up a button that links back to your ebay homepage & shove it at the top of your blog?

Lovely! I agree with the others - try a blog shop. I sell quite well on mine.
As for the double piping - use an adjustable zipper foot to get close to the first piece of piping cord you cover, then use an ordinary presser foot to 'stitch in the ditch', when covering the second row of piping cord. The presser foot 'sits' on top of both cords as you sew. Hope this helps!

Angie! Gorgeous work! I would try out Etsie and sell on your blog too! You can connect the two together. I have not yet made the effort but I would love to some day! You are a talent! I hope you enjoy your holiday season.
