Ebay, I Love You!

For a while now I have been lusting over all the beautiful white slip-covered sofas that many of you lucky blog ladies have, so can you imagine my delight when I spotted these 2 beauties on ebay this week! I don't often check ebay mid-week, usually I save that for the weekend, but this was just meant to be (Thanks God). The seller had a "Buy Now" for $150 the pair and considering they were originally from Harvey-our ads are really loud-Norman (furniture store) I thought that sounded like a pretty good deal. I knew I didn't have any funds left for this purchase so I rang my hubby at work and told him about them. I could tell he wasn't going to give in so I caved and asked if he would like to buy them for my birthday which is later this month. I know he doesn't find me easy to buy for so his relief was almost palpable (if that's possible over the phone). The seller was a delightful lady who couldn't have been more helpful. She said there were a few marks on them, but honestly, unless you're the type that goes around looking at furniture with a magnifying glass, you wouldn't even know they were there.
I am just about beside myself with glee and can't stop glancing at them at every opportunity, lol.

Do you like the stripes going horizontal or vertical?

I can't decide which set of cushions I prefer, the plain or the stripes. What do you think?

Beautiful embossed fabric.

Just to keep you "posted" as to my progress on the grey sofa... I haven't quite finished, just have to sew the covers for the squabs/seat cushions, but in my defense, I do have my SIL staying for a few days.

I would love for you all to pay a visit to a lovely new blog. Janice from
Canadian Cottage . I have a feeling this blog will be well worth keeping a close eye on!

Wow those look great, what a lucky find. They look so plush and comfy. I think I like the horizontal stripes - I read somewhere horizontal stripes are more 'calming' while vertical are 'energizing'. I agree with Julie that you could mix the cushions up too. Thanks for mentioning me!

Hi - I love your new slips. I used to have those exact slipcovers - when my daughter moved out I got new couches and slips, had the cushions plumped up on the old ones and gave them to her. They were 13 years old and had a few iron on patches on them, very used and loved, and I must have washed them 6 times a year.

They're still fabulous, better, stronger, and better quality than the new ones. You are going to love them - good find, great price, your lucky day!

OMG you have my couches!!! Well, not really, I desperately wanted them but had nowhere to put them so I just watched and drooled for seven long days. Something must have happened with the original winner though because a week later they were relisted with a buy it now price. Again, I had to control myself from hitting that button and was actually glad when they sold so that I couls try and forget about them.

Hmmmm, not to be because i'm blogsurfing and somehow ended up on your blog for the first time - and there those gorgeous, white, soft, comfy looking couches are again!!!

They look lovely in your place, please give them a loving stroke or two for me ;)

I vote for the striped pillows (and horizontal.) I have a newer set of dark brown living room furniture that I would love to cover. It just seems so overwhelming project!
I am head over heels in love with your coffee table! Did you by any chance do the finish yourself? I'm going to scour your blog to see if I can find out! It looks PERFECT with the slip-covered sofas.

What great couches!! They look gorgeous. I like the striped pillows going horizontally although I like the photo where you can see both options so perhaps you could mix it up a bit? Love your framed 'HOME' artwork. Gorgeous!!

Hi Ange! First, thanks for the lovely comment! It really brights my day!!!
Not at all. It's simple to use and to clean. Nick read the instructions and tought me how to use it and I highly recommend. The result is amazing. And to clean you just need to detach the spray gun and wash with water. Here is pretty cold and dry, so the paint can dry up really fast. They recommend to clean it every time you finish the job, wiich can be at the end of the day.
So, Yep, I'm going now to the studio to paint more...You will save a lot of time, believe me!
Have fun shopping today to your new spray gun!
Love, Li

Ok, so I am completely amazed at your sofa you are recovering. It looks amazing! I have an ugly chair from my college days that could really use a gal like you to give her a new look:)

Blessings to you,
Melissa :)

2 sofas X 2 white slipcovers = FAB!

both sets of pillows are great. i kind of prefer the smaller stripes for more interest and more spring/summer. but the more solid pillows are really great too - more wintery.

Hi Ange,

I like the black and grey the most, but the stripes horizontally is also nice for summer.
