Bedroom Makeover

I spent the week making over my daughter's bedroom while she was away on holiday. I had trouble getting the photos right, must be the odd light we're having today, so I'm sorry about the picture quality but like I said in my last post, I can't wait to show you:o)

My daughter loves art and will always sign her artwork with her initials DRG (we call her Dee-arjee, sounds kind of like a French artist don't you think?)

The curtains are an almost candy pink/red stripe.

This was a compromise. I promised not to touch the poster wall!

Made this cute cushion.

Made this headboard.

Did NOT embroider this throw.

I am in love with this blue/grey paint colour and have been looking around the house to see where else I can use it.

These tassels really brought my OCD to the fore!

I put metal butterflys in this frame.

Painted the cupboard doors and knobs.

I Love it! I am just about to go & embark on doing the same sort of thing in one of my daughters bedrooms this afternoon!
So many cute things that you have done it there! Laughing about the compromise on the poster wall though....myabe you could paint a huge frame on the wall & then she could put the posters within that!

Great makeover!!
And why not have a poster wall, we all have inspirational walls, vertual or not, so I guess a compromise is not such a bad idea! ;)

Hi Ange! Wow, what a wonderful job you've done!! I love the cushion you made and the little shelf and the cute key on the wall are lovely touches. Love the chandelier too. Where is the striped rug from? I'm after something similar for our place. The wall stripes look fantastic too - your daughter must have loved what you did!! She is lucky to have such a creative Mum x

Oh Ange, what a beautiful bedroom! Your daughter is so lucky. I love how even the poster wall manages to look orderly and funky. Well done! xx

It's lovely Ange. I'm impressed with how straight you get your stripes!! I bet your daughter is thrilled.

She is one lucky girl Ange...you can tell that is was all done with love. Decorating a girl's room at any age is a risky proposition. I like that you obeyed the 'hand off' rule on the posters. Well done Mum! It could easily sit in any decorating magazine. A big pat on the back to you. What next????

All the best...Jeanne :)

This is the second blog that I have seen the horizantal stripes and I love them. Great job mom! It all looks fantastic, a room any girl would love. I am also starting to think about using grey. All you wonderful women have been using it and I think I might have to give it a try. I like the perfect tassels.

Ange it turned out beautiful. She must be so happy. I love the stripes on the wall and of course the initials look fab.

I have tried to email you to thank you again for the kind introduction to all your friends - you must have a lot because I have had so many stop by...so thank you - thank you!!!

Anyway, your email keeps bouncing back (not sure why).

Again, great job on DRG's room.
