"Crikey Mate!"

I feel like I have just wrestled a crocodile!! I have just finished wrangling the cushion inner into the tight-as cover of this ottoman, for the second time I might add (it needed a little tweaking). At least it's a nice tight fit which is want I wanted. It's a shame none of you got to see my performance as it really was quite entertaining and it came veeery close to needing censorship for expletives, but I was very self-controlled... just a few of the following - "far-out", "shoot", "bloomin'heck" .
It is so gratifying to work hard and get great results.

Now I can ring the owner and she can come and collect it (and pay me, woohoo)

I have a couple of blogs I would like to recommend. Both are in their early days but I am so happy to have discovered them.
A Dream House For Trish is the first one. Trish and her family have moved to the Hunter Valley where they have bought some land and are going to be building in the future. I am looking forward to sharing this journey.
The Five Year Project is a blog belonging to Jenny from Queensland. I discovered her blog from a comment she left at The House That A-M Built. I asked Jenny if she would mind me giving her blog a mention and I haven't heard back yet but I was so excited to find her (her kitchen is to-die-for!) that I couldn't wait :-/ I hope she doesn't mind!
Be sure and check them out.
NB I have just been informed that the links don't work so will get on that and try to fix things up, (Thanks for letting me know Tina).
NB All fixed. Please visit and enjoy these new blogs :o)

Hi Ange, I just discovered your blog via Kerri - driftwood interiors. You've done such a good job with the ottoman. Let me guess was the lady Sth African? My hubby's sth african and so that ottoman fabric reminds me of many a home I've visited over there. :)
Have a lovely day.

Hi Ange, I love the ottoman (even more if it means payday for you!!). I just tried the link to Jenny's blog but it didn't work (not sure if it is just me, but thought I would let you know). You are always such a wonderfully generous and supportive blogger, Ange - a true treasure!! Hope you are having a wonderful week ~ Tina xx

Hi Ange, Another great job! This post reminds me though, and I hope you don't mind, but I gave your blog details to a new ebayer who is wanting to learn about upholstering things but couldn't find any classes etc...I thought you might be able to help as you are so talented in this area...not sure if she will contact you or not but thought I better give you a heads up, cheers Katherine

Ange the cover looks great! Another fine job. How funny you talk about the wrestling to be done with very tight slipcovers. I have two chairs that I have to do the same. For one of my parties I forgot to put on the slipcovers on, so I had to do it while my guests were there. Thank goodness they were family because I was all hot and sweaty from trying to get that on. My sister laughed and asked when the next show would be, I no longer forget to put them on before my guests. Thanks for sharing.

Ange, me again! thank you for stopping and your lovely message! I too was so sad to hear about your brother. I am glad that you shared, it does give so much insight into a person when you share bereavement experiences I feel. I think that your brother will be so proud that you always remember him and include him; I truly hope that my children do the same for Sam (it is a little harder for my youngest as he was born after sam; but we keep reminding him!) Also, lovely to meet another blogger who also is into reading the bible; I dont know many people who do! but I do find it brings me so much peace.
Look forward to your next post,
laura xx
